We just love this cute axolotl collaboration with Sammy Gerb who is a full time veterinarian and amateur artist. She fell in love with axolotls when she was a caretaker for her undergraduate school's library aquarium. She found their silly, curious nature captivating, and loved feeding them mealworms. Her love of animals sent her on the path to become a veterinarian, and specialize in exotics and pocket pets. While most of her patients are small and furry, she still has a special place in her heart for these adorable aquatic goofballs. Sammy started painting in 2020 during the pandemic. She started painting as a way to improve her mental health, and with the goal of encouraging others to create art. Her first big project was a giant jenga set for a friend, with each block thoughtfully painted and narrated with a silly story. Her paintings kept coming from there, with her art evolving into more silly and whimsical art and she continues to share stories and words of encouragement. Her signature painting, and her logo, is a balloon animal dog. To date, Sammy has painted dozens of balloon animal dogs, jenga blocks, and silly paintings, all with the intention to make you smile. We thiik she is just fabulous and grateful for her collaboration.
